Job Description

We are seeking Metal-Refining Furnace Operators and Tenders to join our dedicated team. You will operate and maintain furnaces used to melt iron and other metals. If you have a keen eye for detail and a passion for metalworking, this role is perfect for you.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain the iron melting furnaces safely and effectively.
• Adjust furnace controls based on temperature readings to ensure optimal melting.
• Prepare iron ore for melting and ensure quality control of molten metal.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operational processes.
• Conduct routine checks and maintenance of furnace equipment.
• Document production results and report any irregularities to your supervisor.
• Adhere to strict safety protocols at all times.
• Assist in training new operators on machinery and safety protocols.

Requirements

Education

• Matric certificate
• Technical or vocational training in metalworking or related field

Experience

• No experience required, but experience in metalworking or related field is advantageous.

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience in metalworking or related field: Prior exposure to metal processes is a plus.
• Experience operating furnace equipment: Hands-on experience in handling industrial furnaces is beneficial.
• Knowledge of metallurgy: Understanding of the properties and behaviors of metals during melting.
