Construction Manager

Job Description

We are currently seeking a skilled Construction Manager to oversee various construction projects in Port Elizabeth. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing construction activities to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate the construction of projects from start to finish.
• Ensure compliance with local laws and regulations.
• Maintain relationships with clients and provide updates on project status.
• Negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors.
• Track project milestones and deliverables.
• Conduct conflict resolution among site teams.
• Ensure that all work meets quality standards and specifications.
• Create project documentation and reports for clients and upper management.
• Encourage team development and training initiatives.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field
• Master's degree preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience managing large-scale construction projects

Technical Skills

• Construction Scheduling
• Risk Management

• Problem-solving

Certifications

• Certified Construction Manager (CCM)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Knowledge of Local Building Codes: Thorough understanding of local laws and regulations regarding construction.
• Experience with Project Management Software: Familiarity with tools such as MS Project or Primavera for project tracking.
