Job Description

We are on the lookout for a skilled Government Relations Specialist to join our Durban team. The ideal candidate will have a keen understanding of local government policies and procedures, exceptional communication skills, and proven experience in stakeholder engagement and advocacy. You will play a vital role in shaping the operational strategy and ensuring compliance with governmental regulations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research on policy issues impacting the organization and its stakeholders.
• Represent the organization at industry events and governmental functions.
• Develop informative reports and policy recommendations.
• Assist in the creation and dissemination of advocacy materials.
• Measure the effectiveness of advocacy efforts and adjust strategies accordingly.
• Ensure the organization is compliant with lobbying regulations.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Public Relations, or a related field
• Master's degree is preferred

Experience

• 3-5 years of experience in government relations or public policy
