Job Description

We are seeking a passionate Food Scientist to join our team in Port Elizabeth. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and improving food products, conducting research and analyzing results. The ideal candidate will have an excellent understanding of food chemistry, microbiology, and sensory evaluation, and be able to apply this knowledge to create safer and tastier food options.

Responsibilities

• Research and develop innovative food products based on consumer preferences and market demands.
• Analyze lab results and adjust formulations as necessary.
• Work with suppliers to source high-quality ingredients.
• Supervise quality control processes to ensure product consistency.
• Document research and development processes and results in compliance with regulatory guidelines.
• Assist with product packaging and labeling compliance.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Food Technology or related field
• Master's degree preferred

Experience

• 4-6 years of experience in food science or a related field
