Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and qualified Actuarial Science Teacher to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching actuarial science, financial mathematics, and probability theory to undergraduate and postgraduate students. Your role will be pivotal in shaping the next generation of actuaries.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality lectures and facilitate discussions on complex mathematical concepts.
• Mentor students on academic and career development.
• Contribute to the development of new courses and curriculum planning.
• Conduct assessments and evaluations of student progress.
• Collaborate with colleagues on academic projects and departmental initiatives.

Requirements

Education

• A Master's Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or a related field
• Professional actuarial qualification (e.g. Fellow of the Actuarial Society of South Africa or equivalent)
• Teaching qualification (PGCE or equivalent) will be advantageous

Experience

• A minimum of 5 years' experience in teaching actuarial science, financial mathematics, and probability theory at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
