Job Description

We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Surgeon to join our team in Durban. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing and treating a variety of animal health issues, conducting surgeries, and providing excellent patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Provide surgical care and emergency interventions as needed.
  • Teach and demonstrate proper animal handling techniques to the team.
  • Conduct client consultations to discuss treatment options and recommendations.
  • Manage inventory of medical supplies and medications.
  • Participate in training programs for new staff and interns.
  • Help improve best practices and clinical procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with veterinary health standards and regulations.
  • Build relationships with local pet organizations to promote the clinic.
  • Present educational workshops for pet owners on responsible pet ownership.
  • Monitor animal recovery and health progress post-treatment.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Veterinary Medicine
  • Specialization in surgical procedures is preferred
Experience
  • At least 5 years of veterinary practice with surgical experience
