Job Description

We are on the lookout for a skilled Stonemason Supervisor to oversee our talented team of masons. The ideal candidate will ensure the highest standards of craftsmanship in stonework, while leading projects from inception to completion.

Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day operations of the stonemasonry team.
• Provide guidance and training to team members.
• Order and maintain inventory of materials and equipment.
• Resolve on-site issues efficiently and effectively.
• Conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality standards.
• Prepare progress reports for management and clients.
• Ensure workforce productivity and cohesion.
• Implement process improvements within the team.
• Maintain a safe and productive working environment.
• Foster a culture of teamwork and excellence.

Requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Stonemasonry certification or apprenticeship

Experience

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Stonemasonry, including supervisory experience.

Technical Skills

• Stonemasonry techniques
• Blueprint interpretation
• Project management

Soft Skills

• Leadership
• Communication

Certifications

• Supervisor training or certification preferred

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Afrikaans: Conversational

Advantageous

• Experience in historic restoration: Knowledge and skills in restoring heritage stone structures.
• Experience with construction management software: Familiarity with tools like AutoCAD and SketchUp for design purposes.
