Behavioral Therapist

Job Description

We are seeking a passionate Behavioral Therapist to join our dynamic team in Cape Town. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of therapeutic techniques and a dedication to improving mental health outcomes for clients. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to provide tailored support and interventions.

Responsibilities

• Assess and diagnose mental health conditions using DSM-5 criteria.
• Build therapeutic relationships with clients to foster trust and engagement.
• Utilize various therapeutic modalities including CBT, DBT, and mindfulness.
• Conduct workshops to educate clients about mental health topics.
• Participate in outreach programs to promote mental health awareness.
• Maintain collaboration with external agencies for client referrals.
• Supervise interns and junior therapists as necessary.

Requirements

Education

• Master's degree in Social Work or Counseling
• HPCSA registration preferred

Experience

• 3+ years in behavioral therapy or related fields

• Trauma-Informed Care

Certifications

• Advanced Mental Health Certification
• Trauma-Informed Care Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Xhosa: Conversational
