Legal Advisor

Job Description

We are seeking a Legal Advisor to join our team in Cape Town. This role requires a professional with a solid understanding of legal frameworks, and the ability to provide strategic legal guidance to assist our management in making informed decisions. You will play a vital role in reviewing contracts, advising on compliance matters, and ensuring legal best practices are adhered to within the organization.

Responsibilities

• Advise management on legal obligations and risks.
• Review and draft commercial agreements.
• Participate in negotiations to achieve favorable outcomes.
• Provide interpretation of laws and regulations to diverse stakeholders.
• Assist in policy development and implementation.
• Monitor compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
• Manage relationships with regulators and external attorneys.
• Prepare and maintain legal documentation and records.
• Develop training materials for legal compliance workshops.

Requirements

Education

• LLB or equivalent legal degree
• Postgraduate diploma in corporate law is a plus

Experience

• 3-6 years of experience in legal advisory or corporate law.
