Job Description

We’re on the lookout for a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Durban. The ideal candidate will have experience in designing and implementing mechanical systems, with a focus on quality and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed engineering drawings and specifications.
• Manage the design process from concept to completion.
• Evaluate and select appropriate materials and manufacturing processes.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities in mechanical designs.
• Document design processes and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Conduct training sessions for junior engineers and interns.
• Collaborate with suppliers to source and assess new materials.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• Postgraduate degree is preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in the engineering field, particularly in mechanical systems

Technical Skills

• Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
• Thermal Systems Design

Soft Skills

• Leadership skills
• Creative thinking

Certifications

• Certified Professional Engineer (CPE)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with CAD software: Proficiency in various CAD software, including SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
• Familiarity with manufacturing processes: Understanding of different manufacturing processes and materials.
