Job Description

The Medical Records Clerk will be responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of patients' medical histories, treatments, and procedures. This role is crucial for supporting healthcare professionals in delivering the best patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Organize and maintain medical records in accordance with established procedures.
  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of medical records.
  • Compile and analyze healthcare statistics for reporting and research purposes.
  • Ensure confidentiality of patient information.
  • Assist with the release of patient information to authorized parties.
  • Respond to requests for information from patients and healthcare professionals.
  • Conduct regular audits of medical records to ensure compliance with healthcare regulations.
  • Provide training and support to new staff on medical records management practices.
  • Manage and prepare documentation for medical claims processing.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or related field
Experience
  • Familiarity with relevant regulations and legislation
Technical Skills
  • Experience with EHR systems
Soft Skills
  • Analytical skills

  • Experience in medical transcription: Knowledge in transcribing medical dictations for patient records.
