Job Description

As a Transportation Planner, you will work collaboratively with stakeholders to create comprehensive transportation plans that balance efficiency, safety, and environmental sustainability in Gauteng.

Responsibilities

  • Create and present transportation plans for review by city planners.
  • Research best practices in transportation planning and apply them to local contexts.
  • Collaborate with local and regional transportation agencies on joint initiatives.
  • Track and report on project performance metrics.
  • Participate in inter-departmental meetings to align goals and strategies.
  • Develop educational materials on transportation issues for the community.
  • Ensure equity considerations in transportation planning processes.
  • Lead initiatives to promote public transport usage.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Transport Engineering or related field
  • Master’s degree is an advantage
Experience
  • 5 years of relevant experience in transportation planning
