Job Description

As a Parks and Recreation Manager, you will oversee all facets of our park operations. This entails developing and implementing engaging recreational programmes, ensuring the maintenance and enhancement of our outdoor facilities, and delivering exceptional customer service. You’ll work closely with community stakeholders to promote our parks and ensure inclusivity.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the strategic development of parks and recreation programs.
  • Ensure that the parks are accessible and welcoming to all community members.
  • Provide leadership and direction to the parks team to enhance visitor experiences.
  • Implement best practices in park management and environmental stewardship.
  • Foster a culture of safety and compliance among staff and volunteers.
  • Collaborate with local businesses and organizations for community programs.
  • Develop innovative marketing approaches to drive engagement in programs.
  • Manage special events from conception to completion, ensuring their success.
  • Evaluate and report on various initiatives to assess impact and future potential.
  • Ensure sustainable practices in park management to preserve natural resources.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, or related field
  • Master's degree or additional certifications are advantageous
Experience
  • 6+ years of progressive experience in parks and recreation management
