Freight Forwarder

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Freight Forwarder to join our Johannesburg team. The successful candidate will manage logistics operations, coordinate shipments, and ensure adherence to regulations. If you have strong negotiation skills and an eye for detail, we'd love to hear from you!

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end freight forwarding operations including documentation and customs clearance.
• Conduct regular audits of shipping processes to identify areas for improvement.
• Establish and maintain relationships with freight carriers and logistics partners.
• Provide excellent customer service and support to clients regarding logistics queries.
• Investigate and resolve any issues related to shipment delays or damages.
• Ensure accurate inventory control and tracking of shipments.
• Prepare and submit reports relating to cost analysis and shipping performance.
• Stay informed about emerging trends in logistics and freight forwarding.

Requirements

Education

• Degree in Business Administration, Transport Economics or similar
• Additional qualifications in supply chain are advantageous

Experience

• Minimum of 4 years in freight forwarding or related sectors

• Freight Management Software

Certifications

• Logistics and Supply Chain Management Certification
• Freight Broker License

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Basic

• Familiarity with hazardous material regulations: Knowledgeable in handling and shipping hazardous materials.
