Food Safety Manager

Job Description

We are seeking a Food Safety Manager to oversee our food safety initiatives in Johannesburg. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with local and international food safety regulations, conducting audits, and implementing training programs for staff. You will play a pivotal role in maintaining our high standards of food safety and quality.

Responsibilities

• Ensure food safety training programs are effective and up to date.
• Engage with suppliers to ensure they meet safety standards.
• Oversee the implementation of corrective actions from audits.
• Analyze food safety data and prepare reports for management.
• Participate in crisis management related to food safety incidents.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Food Technology, Nutritional Sciences, or a related discipline
• Postgraduate qualifications are advantageous

Experience

• 5+ years of relevant experience in food safety or quality control

Technical Skills

• Food Safety Auditing
• Quality Management Systems (QMS)

Soft Skills

• Leadership
• Problem-Solving

Certifications

• ISO 22000 Certification
• Food Safety Auditor Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Basic
