Construction Manager

Job Description

As a Construction Manager, you will oversee construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget. You will manage project teams, and coordinate with contractors and clients while maintaining the highest industry standards in safety and quality.

Responsibilities

• Direct, oversee, and execute construction projects.
• Ensure proper scheduling of tasks and resource allocation.
• Maintain rigorous quality control and safety standards.
• Act as the primary point of contact for clients and suppliers.
• Prepare detailed project plans and objectives.
• Identify and resolve construction challenges and delays.
• Prepare regular progress reports, revising plans as necessary.
• Manage procurement of materials and services.
• Promote a culture of safety and compliance on all sites.
• Evaluate the performance of contractors and subcontractors.

Requirements

Education

• Diploma in Construction Management or related field
• Advanced Project Management certification is an advantage

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in managing construction projects

• Construction Scheduling Software
• Budget Management

• Problem-solving
• Negotiation

Certifications

• Lean Six Sigma Certification
• CPM Certification (Certified Purchasing Manager)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Knowledge of local building codes: Familiarity with applicable building codes and regulations in South Africa.
• Experience in the real estate sector: Prior experience in managing construction projects for residential or commercial properties.
