We are seeking a proactive Industrial Relations Director to lead our efforts in managing employee relations and ensuring compliance with labor laws. This role is critical in fostering strong relationships between management and employees, driving a positive workplace culture.

Job Responsibilities
  • Develop effective industrial relations strategies and policies.
  • Oversee employee relations processes including grievance handling and dispute resolution.
  • Provide expert advice to management on labor laws and employee rights.
  • Negotiate with labor unions and ensure compliance with collective bargaining agreements.
  • Analyze employment legislation and industry trends for policy compliance.
  • Conduct investigations into workplace misconduct and provide recommendations.
  • Build positive relationships with external stakeholders like labor unions.
  • Collaborate with HR to create training programs on industrial relations.
  • Manage the budget for industrial relations activities.
  • Stay informed about emerging best practices in industrial relations.
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, or a related field
  • Labor Laws Knowledge Deep understanding of South African labor laws including the Labour Relations Act.
  • Negotiation Skills Proficient in negotiation and mediation for resolving disputes.
  • Communication Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Problem-solving Ability to analyze complex situations and make informed decisions.
  • CCMA Accreditation
  • English (Fluent)

  • Experience in change management: Skills in guiding organizations through transitions while managing employee relations.
  • Cultural competency skills: Ability to work in diverse workplace environments and address cultural issues.
