Ophthalmic Medical Technician

Job Description

As an Ophthalmic Medical Technician, you will be instrumental in assisting our optometrists with patient examinations and treatments. We're looking for an enthusiastic individual who is passionate about eye care and dedicated to providing excellent service to our patients.

Responsibilities

• Support optometrists in complete eye examinations and diagnostic evaluations.
• Educate patients about various procedures and ensure comfort during appointments.
• Accurately record and update patient information in the electronic health records.
• Assist in the management of post-operative care and follow-up appointments.
• Perform routine screenings and preliminary tests to assess vision quality.
• Facilitate contact lens fittings and provide instructions on their care.
• Ensure the proper functioning of diagnostic and optical equipment.
• Coordinate administrative functions including patient scheduling and inquiries.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
• Contribute to a positive team environment and patient experience.

Requirements

Education

• High School Certificate or equivalent
• Diploma in Optometric Assistance or related field preferred

Experience

• Experience in a healthcare environment preferred but not mandatory.
