Responsibilities

• Assess and treat animals with various health problems.
• Perform routine physical examinations and preventative care.
• Oversee anesthesia and pain management during surgeries.
• Conduct diagnostic tests and interpret results.
• Communicate effectively with pet owners about treatment options.
• Participate in community outreach and education programs.
• Collaborate with specialists when necessary to ensure comprehensive care.
• Maintain high standards of hygiene and biosecurity.
• Assist in training junior staff and interns.
• Document all procedures and patient interactions accurately.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor of Veterinary Science (BVSc)
• Registration with the South African Veterinary Council (SAVC)

Experience

• Registered veterinarian with at least 2 years of clinical experience
