Pump Kill Operator

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Pump Kill Operator to join our drilling team in Durban. You will play a vital role in operating pumps used during drilling and well completion processes, ensuring safety and efficiency at all times.

Responsibilities

• Control pump systems to circulate drilling fluids effectively.
• Conduct equipment checks and maintain proper operational conditions.
• Respond promptly to any well control issues, preventing blowouts.
• Assist with maintaining drilling fluid properties for optimal wellbore stability.
• Train new operators on pump operation and safety procedures.
• Document all incidents and operational data for review.
• Coordinate with the drilling supervisor regarding operational changes.
• Review and adhere to all safety and operational protocols.
• Participate in regular safety meetings and training sessions.

Requirements

Education

• Technical certification in pump operations or related field preferred

Experience

• Experience with specific pump models used in the oil and gas industry is a plus.
