Job Description

The Reverberatory Furnace Supervisor plays a crucial role in overseeing the operations of the reverberatory furnace, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency. This position includes leading a team of furnace operators, maintaining safety standards, and implementing process improvements to enhance production output.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the daily operations of the furnace department, meeting all production goals.
  • Implement maintenance schedules and ensure timely repairs.
  • Enhance production processes to ensure efficiency and safety.
  • Foster teamwork and leadership among furnace operators.
  • Document furnace operation metrics and suggest improvements.
  • Engage with other departmental teams to ensure smooth operations.
  • Develop training programs for new furnace operators.
  • Encourage adherence to safety standards and practices.
  • Manage inventory of materials used in operations.
  • Facilitate problem-solving sessions to address operational issues.

Requirements

Education
  • Matric qualification
  • Higher diploma in metallurgy or related field is advantageous.
Experience
  • 5 years of experience in a supervisory role within a metallurgical environment and furnace operation.
