Retail Store Manager

Job Description

We are on the lookout for a Retail Store Manager in Durban who will oversee store operations and ensure excellence in customer service delivery. You'll manage inventory, train and develop staff, and create an inviting shopping experience to drive sales.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the store meets sales and profitability targets.
• Lead the team in achieving store goals and enhancing customer service.
• Conduct regular stock takes and ensure stock accuracy.
• Plan and implement employee schedules to meet store demands.
• Promote a positive shopping experience through excellent service standards.
• Work with the HR department for recruitment and staff development.
• Monitor competitor activity and market trends to maintain competitiveness.
• Ensure visual merchandising standards are upheld and reflect current promotions.

Requirements

Education

• Matric or equivalent
• BCom in Retail Management or Business Administration is advantageous

Experience

• At least 3-5 years experience in a similar role or retail environment

Technical Skills

• Customer Relationship Management (CRM)
• Sales Strategy Development

• Team Building

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Afrikaans: Conversational

Advantageous

• Fluency in additional local languages: Ability to communicate in multiple languages enhances customer interaction.
