Special Education Teacher

Job Description

As a Special Education Teacher, you will play a vital role in ensuring that students with disabilities receive the appropriate education tailored to their individual needs. You will develop and implement individualized educational plans (IEPs), collaborate with parents and support staff, and create a stimulating learning environment. This position requires a passion for teaching, understanding of learning disabilities, and the ability to adapt materials for diverse learners.

Responsibilities

• Create individualized lesson plans that reflect the diverse needs of students.
• Communicate regularly with parents to discuss student progress and concerns.
• Adapt materials and teaching techniques based on student needs.
• Foster relationships with students to build trust and rapport.
• Implement behavioral management strategies to encourage positive behavior.
• Conduct assessments to identify student strengths and weaknesses.
• Participate in community outreach programs related to special education.
• Advocate for resources and support for students with disabilities.
• Enhance student learning through the use of technology and multimedia.
• Monitor student attendance and engagement.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field
• Special Education focus is preferred

Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in teaching or special education
