Caretaker (Landscaping and Groundskeeping Workers)

Job Description

The Caretaker will be responsible for maintaining and managing the upkeep of residential and commercial properties. Duties include performing basic repairs, cleaning, and landscaping tasks to ensure that the properties are safe, clean, and well-maintained.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine inspections of buildings and grounds.
• Ensure all areas are clean, safe, and well-maintained.
• Assist with landscaping activities including planting and garden upkeep.
• Perform basic handyman repairs for plumbing, electrical, and carpentry as needed.
• Manage inventory of maintenance supplies and ensure timely reordering.
• Communicate with tenants about property issues and updates.
• Assist in the management of waste disposal and recycling programs.
• Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Transport maintenance staff to various locations as necessary.

Requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Training in property management or related field is a plus

Experience

• At least 2 years' experience in a similar role.

Technical Skills

• Knowledge of landscaping
• Basic repair skills
• Safe equipment operation

• Knowledge of environmental sustainability practices: Understanding of sustainable landscaping and maintenance practices.
• Experience in vendor management: Ability to coordinate with external service providers and contractors.
