Site Reliability Engineer

Join us as a Site Reliability Engineer where you will play a key role in ensuring that our systems remain stable and reliable. Your expertise in monitoring, systems engineering, and incident response will be instrumental in driving our service reliability initiatives in Johannesburg's dynamic tech landscape.

Responsibilities

• Manage the reliability of services through monitoring and alerting.
• Enhance system architecture for performance and scalability.
• Respond to service outages and lead the incident resolution process.
• Mentor junior engineers in site reliability practices.
• Formulate service level objectives and metrics.
• Build deployment pipelines for automated software deployment.
• Conduct performance testing and analysis.
• Revise system designs for risk and reliability improvements.
• Provide documentation for processes and configurations.
• Participate in capacity planning and demand forecasting.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or relevant field

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in reliability engineering, DevOps, or a related discipline

Technical Skills

• Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
• CI/CD Tools (Jenkins, CircleCI)

Soft Skills

• Analytical Thinking
• Leadership

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Familiarity with distributed systems.: Understanding of the principles of distributed systems.
