Job Description

We are currently on the lookout for an experienced Insurance Underwriter to enhance our team based in Johannesburg, Gauteng. The ideal candidate will be adept at evaluating risks and underwriting insurance policies in line with company standards and guidelines. This role is pivotal in ensuring both the profitability and sustainability of our insurance offerings.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular evaluations of the underwriting process for efficiency improvements.
• Create and maintain detailed records of underwriting decisions and rationale.
• Develop strong relationships with clients and partners to drive business growth.
• Provide input on product development and pricing strategies based on underwriting insights.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science or Insurance

Experience

• 5+ years of underwriting experience preferred

Technical Skills

• Underwriting Software Proficiency

Soft Skills

• Problem-solving
• Negotiation

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with insurance claims processing: Hands-on experience with reviewing and processing claims.
• Certification in Insurance Underwriting: Professional certification in insurance underwriting is an advantage.
