Job Description

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Durban. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and developing mechanical systems and components for various projects. You will work closely with a team of engineers to ensure high-quality outputs and innovative solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design prototypes and oversee testing of mechanical products.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
• Manage project budgets and timelines effectively.
• Analyze data and provide recommendations for system improvements.
• Prepare and deliver presentations to stakeholders regarding project status.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in mechanical engineering.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• Master's degree in Engineering Management preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in a similar role

Technical Skills

• Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
• Thermal and Fluid Dynamics

Soft Skills

• Problem-Solving
• Leadership

Certifications

• Certified Manufacturing Engineer (CMfgE)
• Lean Six Sigma Certification is beneficial

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Certification in Quality Control: Understanding of quality control processes and methodologies.
• Experience with Mechanical Systems Testing: Hands-on experience with testing and validating mechanical systems.
