Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Veterinary Surgeon to join our compassionate team in Johannesburg. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal welfare, alongside the skills to diagnose and treat various medical conditions in pets.

Responsibilities

  • Examine pets and develop treatment plans tailored to their needs.
  • Perform routine and emergency surgeries with precision.
  • Monitor and manage anesthesia during surgical procedures.
  • Provide education to pet owners on health maintenance and nutrition.
  • Handle laboratory tests and interpret results to inform diagnoses.
  • Assist in the implementation of new veterinary practices and standards.
  • Participate in community outreach programs to promote animal welfare.
  • Mentor junior veterinary staff and interns as necessary.
  • Uphold ethical standards and maintain professionalism in all interactions.
  • Cultivate relationships with clients to ensure patient loyalty and satisfaction.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Veterinary Science
  • Registration with the South African Veterinary Council is required
Experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience as a veterinarian
