Job Description

We are in search of a dedicated Pharmacist to join our Cape Town pharmacy team. In this role, you will be responsible for dispensing medications, advising patients on their use, and ensuring the safety and efficacy of prescriptions. Your expertise will be vital in promoting health education and improving patient outcomes within the community.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the dispensing of prescriptions in accordance with legal requirements.
• Advise patients on side effects and drug interactions of medications.
• Participate in health education initiatives and community outreach programs.
• Maintain accurate records of patient profiles and prescriptions.
• Assist in training and supervising pharmacy technicians.
• Ensure the pharmacy adheres to safety and sanitation standards.
• Perform regular audits and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
• Communicate effectively with patients to understand their healthcare needs.
• Support customer service efforts to enhance overall patient experience.
• Participate in research and development of new pharmacy services.

Advantageous

• Experience with chronic disease management: Familiarity with managing chronic conditions such as diabetes and hypertension.
• Knowledge of OTC medications: Understanding of over-the-counter products and their applications.
