DevOps Engineer

Job Description

We're seeking a DevOps Engineer whose passion lies in creating automated systems. In this role in Cape Town, you will be responsible for maintaining our infrastructure and enhancing our CI/CD processes to meet our growing demands.

Responsibilities

• Develop scripts for automating repetitive tasks in system management.
• Collaborate with IT security teams to implement compliance measures.
• Participate in on-call rotations to support system outages.
• Train and mentor junior team members on best DevOps practices.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field

Experience

• 4+ years of hands-on experience in DevOps or related positions

Technical Skills

• Terraform
• Git
• Networking

Soft Skills

• Communication
• Time Management

Certifications

• Certified Kubernetes Administrator

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with service mesh technologies: Experience using Istio or Linkerd for service mesh architectures.
• Scripting skills: Proficient in scripting languages such as Python or Bash for automation.
