Job Description

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Social Worker to join our team in Johannesburg. In this role, you will be responsible for addressing the needs of individuals and families within our community, providing vital support and resources to enhance their wellbeing and stability.

Responsibilities

• Offer support and guidance during challenging life situations, fostering resilience and growth.
• Participate in case conferences and multidisciplinary team meetings.
• Implement community outreach activities to raise awareness of social issues.
• Develop workshops and resources to educate clients about mental health and wellbeing.
• Network with other professionals to foster collaboration and share best practices.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work or Psychology
• Further qualifications in counselling or therapy are a plus

Experience

• Minimum of 3 years in community service or social work roles

Technical Skills

• Case management
• Group facilitation

Soft Skills

• Cultural competence
• Problem-solving

Certifications

• Certified Social Work Manager (CSWM)

Languages

• English: Fluent
• isiZulu: Conversational

Advantageous

• Knowledge of trauma-informed care practices: Expertise in working with individuals who have experienced trauma.
• Additional language proficiency: Ability to communicate in multiple languages is valued.
