Job Description

We are in search of a meticulous Insurance Underwriter based in East London. This role involves assessing risks and pricing insurance policies. The ideal candidate will have a knack for numbers, excellent analytical skills, and a keen attention to detail. You'll work closely with clients to evaluate their needs and provide tailored insurance solutions.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze clients' insurance needs and financial statuses.
• Execute underwriting policies and best practices.
• Prepare detailed reports on risk assessments and decisions.
• Collaborate with claims department regarding underwriting issues.
• Assist in drafting insurance policy documentation.
• Stay updated with market conditions affecting underwriting.
• Assist in mentoring and training junior staff.
• Conduct audits of existing policies to ensure compliance.
• Evaluate reinsurance needs and coverage.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field is preferred
• Master's degree in Business Administration is advantageous

Experience

• 5+ years of insurance underwriting experience

• Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society (FCAS)
