Job Description

As an Unmanned Aircraft Operator (UA Operator), you will operate unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) to gather critical data and perform surveillance tasks. You will collaborate with a dedicated team of engineers and technicians to ensure operational excellence and compliance with aviation regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Configure and calibrate UAS before operations.
  • Ensure compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements for UAS operations.
  • Liaise with clients to meet specific project requirements.
  • Execute complex missions involving data capture in challenging environments.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for UAS operations.
  • Develop operational reports and documentation based on flight data.
  • Participate in team meetings to discuss mission outcomes and improvements.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for UAS missions.
  • Identify new applications for UAS technology in various industries.
  • Maintain a high level of communication with ground crews during missions.

Requirements

Education
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Relevant certification in UAS operation (e.g. FAA Part 107, SACAA RPL)
  • Bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering or related field (preferred)
Experience
  • 5 years of experience operating unmanned aircraft systems.
