Mental Health Counsellor

Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate Mental Health Counsellor to join our team in Pretoria. The ideal candidate will provide support to individuals dealing with emotional and psychological issues, using evidence-based therapeutic techniques.

Responsibilities

• Deliver culturally sensitive counselling services.
• Conduct workshops on stress management, coping skills, and emotional regulation.
• Assist clients in setting and achieving personal goals.
• Engage in ongoing professional development and training.
• Foster a supportive and inclusive environment for all clients.
• Advocate for clients' rights and access to mental health services.

Requirements

Education

• Master's degree in Social Work or related field
• Additional certifications in mental health counselling are preferred

Experience

• 3 years of experience in a therapeutic setting

• Family Therapy

• Active Listening
• Cultural Competence

Certifications

• Registered Counsellor with the HPCSA
• Mental Health First Aid Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Conversational

• Bilingual abilities: Fluency in both English and Afrikaans is a plus.
