Job Description

Join Design Horizons as an Architectural Technologist, where you'll collaborate with architects and clients to create exceptional building designs. You'll be responsible for utilizing your technical skills to ensure that projects are executed effectively and adhere to local regulations while promoting innovative practices.

Responsibilities

• Draft clear and precise architectural plans using CAD software.
• Collaborate with project managers to track project milestones.
• Attend client meetings to present design ideas and updates.
• Ensure all designs are compliant with environmental standards.
• Mentor junior team members and provide technical guidance.
• Engage in continuous learning to stay current with architectural trends.
• Oversee the implementation of design changes during the construction phase.
• Evaluate site conditions and address potential project risks.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Architectural Technology or related field
• Registration with SACAP is an advantage

Experience

• 5+ years of progressive experience in architecture

Technical Skills

• BIM Software
• Project Management Software

Certifications

• LEED Accredited Professional
• SACAP Registration

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Xhosa: Conversational

Advantageous

• Understanding of local building regulations: Strong knowledge of municipal building codes and regulations applicable in South Africa.
• Experience with 3D printing technology: Familiarity with utilizing 3D printing for architectural models.
