Public Health Officer

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Public Health Officer to manage and implement health programs aimed at improving the health standards in Port Elizabeth. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assessing community health needs, developing health promotion strategies, and leading public health initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Lead efforts for health promotion and disease prevention in the community.
• Conduct research to monitor health trends and program impact.
• Prepare and present public health findings to stakeholders.
• Promote health literacy and access to health care services.
• Assist in emergency preparedness and response planning.
• Evaluate and report on public health program budgets.
• Support data collection and analysis for public health initiatives.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Health Sciences or similar
• Master's degree in Public Health or related field is an advantage

Experience

• 3-5 years of experience in community health initiatives

• English: Fluent
• Xhosa: Conversational
