Combined Rail Operator

Job Description

The Combined Rail Operator will oversee the operation and maintenance of railway equipment, focusing on transporting goods and passengers safely. This role demands a keen understanding of safety protocols and the ability to respond promptly to operational challenges.

Responsibilities

• Manage the daily operations of freight and passenger transport.
• Perform routine checks on train lines and signaling systems.
• Respond quickly to incidents and emergencies following established protocols.
• Keep accurate logs and records of daily operations, incidents, and safety checks.
• Coordinate with other railway operators and agencies for inter-agency cooperation.
• Train and mentor junior operators in safety and operational protocols.
• Engage with community and stakeholders to uphold the company’s reputation.
• Participate in quality assurance audits to maintain service levels.

Requirements

Education

• Grade 12 or equivalent qualification
• Technical certification in railway operations

Experience

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in rail transportation
