Smoker Operator

Job Description

The Smoker Operator will be responsible for operating and maintaining the smoking equipment in a food manufacturing plant to produce high-quality smoked products. The ideal candidate should have experience with food processing and good attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and load meat products onto the smoker machine.
• Operate and monitor the smoking process to ensure quality control.
• Adjust smoker settings for optimal product quality.
• Clean and sanitize the smoker and work area.
• Follow all food safety and quality measures.
• Engage in cross-training with other production roles.
• Participate in safety and quality assurance meetings.
• Document all smoking procedures and audits.
• Support the production manager with daily operational tasks.

Requirements

Education

• Matric or equivalent
• Technical or trade qualification in Engineering or Food Technology is advantageous

Experience

• Minimum of 1-2 years' experience in a similar role

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Afrikaans: Basic
