Mining Engineer

Job Description

We are hiring a Mining Engineer in Cape Town. In this role, you will lead and support various mining projects, ensuring operational efficiency and compliance with safety standards. Candidates should have a strong background in geotechnical engineering.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement efficient drilling and blasting techniques.
• Monitor and report on mine production metrics and KPIs.
• Collaborate with the safety team to enhance workplace safety.
• Research and implement practices that promote a sustainable mining environment.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Geology, Mining Engineering, or relevant field
• Higher degree in Mining Engineering is an advantage

Experience

• 5+ years in mining operations or engineering roles

Technical Skills

• Project Management Software (e.g., Primavera)
• Data Analysis Tools (e.g., Excel, Tableau)

Certifications

• Mine Safety Certification
• Professional Membership in Mine Engineers Society

Languages

• English: Fluent
