Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Veterinarian to join our Johannesburg clinic. You will use your expertise to assess animal health, devise treatment plans, and support pet owners in understanding their pets' needs. You should have a proactive approach to veterinary medicine and the ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Examine and treat sick or injured animals.
• Develop preventive health care strategies for animals.
• Collaborate with pet owners to ensure ongoing animal care.
• Help manage the clinic's inventory of medications and supplies.
• Educate pet owners on the importance of spaying/neutering and vaccinations.
• Collaborate with local rescue organizations on veterinary care initiatives.
• Actively engage in continuing professional development activities.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Veterinary Science or equivalent
• Postgraduate studies in a specialized area of veterinary medicine are advantageous

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in a clinical setting, particularly with companion animals

• Anesthesia administration

Certifications

• SAVC Accredited

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Basic
