Job Description

As an Aviculturist, you will be responsible for the breeding and care of our avian population, ensuring the highest standards of health and welfare. You'll implement and manage breeding programmes, monitor health and nutrition, and educate visitors about aviculture.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and assess the effectiveness of breeding programs and strategies.
  • Conduct regular health checks and maintain detailed records of avian care.
  • Engage with the public and customers, fostering awareness of avian conservation initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with local and international aviculture regulations and ethical standards.
  • Develop educational materials and programs for community outreach.
  • Participate in research initiatives related to bird breeding and conservation efforts.
  • Maintain an organised and efficient avicultural operation including staff training.

Requirements

Education
  • Higher education in wildlife conservation or similar field
Experience
  • Strong background in avian care, with at least 5 years of hands-on experience.
