Mechanical Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Port Elizabeth. The successful candidate will play a key role in the design, development, and testing of mechanical systems and components. You will work closely with a team of engineers and designers to ensure project requirements are met and support the implementation of innovative engineering solutions.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed engineering designs using CAD software.
• Analyze product design for manufacturability.
• Interact with customers to assess engineering needs.
• Review and approve designs from junior engineers.
• Manage project timelines and deliverables.
• Ensure effective communication among project stakeholders.
• Participate in cross-departmental project meetings.
• Evaluate the efficiency of production processes.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Master's degree preferred

Experience

• 5+ years in a mechanical engineering role

Technical Skills

• CAD Software
• Finite Element Analysis (FEA)

Soft Skills

• Leadership
• Negotiation

Certifications

• Certified Manufacturing Engineer (CMfgE)
• Lean Manufacturing Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Proficiency in 3D printing technologies: Hands-on experience with 3D printing processes and applications.
• Understanding of renewable energy systems: Knowledge of renewable energy technologies and their application in engineering projects.
