Civil Engineer

Job Description

We are looking for a passionate Civil Engineer to join our Cape Town team. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in civil engineering principles, design, and project management. You will be responsible for overseeing various aspects of construction projects, ensuring that they meet both safety and regulatory standards, while also being delivered on time and within budget.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects from conceptual design through to completion.
• Evaluate the environmental impact of projects and implement solutions.
• Ensure all work adheres to engineering ethics and standards.
• Prepare and present engineering proposals to clients.
• Implement risk management procedures to reduce project risks.
• Coordinate with local authorities for project approvals and permits.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
• Master's degree in Civil Engineering or related field is preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in civil engineering

Technical Skills

• Advanced Civil Engineering Software
• Geotechnical Engineering

Certifications

• Project Management Professional (PMP)
• Green Building Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Familiarity with GIS Software: Knowledge of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for civil engineering applications.
• Experience in Construction Supervision: Previous exposure to supervising construction activities on-site.
