Special Education Teacher

Job Description

We are looking for a Special Education Teacher to enrich the lives of our students in Kimberley. The role entails developing and implementing effective teaching strategies to support learners with disabilities or special needs. You will collaborate with fellow educators and specialists to create a nurturing environment where every student can thrive.

Responsibilities

• Develop educational materials that are appropriate for a variety of learning capabilities.
• Conduct behavioral assessments to identify areas of struggle and promote positive changes.
• Support students during testing and other academic challenges.
• Actively participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities.
• Foster a safe and supportive environment that encourages independence and personal growth.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Education with a special focus on Special Needs
• Additional qualifications in Therapeutic Techniques are a plus

Experience

• Minimum of 3 years working directly with children with disabilities

Certifications

• Registered with the South African Council for Educators (SACE)

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Setswana: Conversational

Advantageous

• Experience with behavior modification techniques: Tools to assist students in developing positive behaviors.
