Job Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Investment Banking Analyst with a strong understanding of financial markets to join our Johannesburg team. The ideal candidate will provide analytical support and assist in the execution of investment banking transactions, helping to deliver exceptional value to our clients.

Responsibilities

• Analyze statistical data and market trends to forecast risk.
• Develop pricing models and methodologies.
• Collaborate with other departments to provide actuarial insights.
• Prepare reports to communicate findings to stakeholders.
• Evaluate and improve actuarial models for accuracy.
• Monitor the performance of insurance products and adapt strategies.
• Stay up-to-date with industry regulations and standards.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics or related field
• Master's degree in Actuarial Science preferred

Experience

• 4+ years in actuarial consultancy or direct insurance company work

Technical Skills

• Excel and Data Modelling Tools
• Data Visualization Software (e.g., Tableau)

Soft Skills

• Problem-solving
• Teamwork

Certifications

• ACAS or FCAS certification is an advantage
• Additional qualifications in finance or business are helpful

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Familiarity with IFRS 17: Knowledge and understanding of IFRS 17 and its implications on financial reporting.
• Experience with predictive modeling: Hands-on experience in developing predictive models for risk assessments.
