Job Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Investment Banking Analyst with a strong understanding of financial markets to join our Johannesburg team. The ideal candidate will provide analytical support and assist in the execution of investment banking transactions, helping to deliver exceptional value to our clients.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate various risk factors impacting the business.
• Utilize actuarial software to implement model changes and updates.
• Present analytical findings to senior management and clients.
• Engage in cross-functional teams to design new insurance products.
• Contribute to the annual business planning process with insights based on analysis.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics or related field
• Master's degree in Actuarial Science preferred

Experience

• 4+ years in actuarial consultancy or direct insurance company work

Technical Skills

• Excel and Data Modelling Tools
• Data Visualization Software (e.g., Tableau)

Soft Skills

• Problem-solving
• Teamwork

Certifications

• ACAS or FCAS certification is an advantage
• Additional qualifications in finance or business are helpful

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Proficiency in SQL: Ability to manipulate large datasets and conduct complex queries.
• Experience working with reinsurers: Familiarity with the reinsurance market and interactions with reinsurers.
