Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Public Health Officer to join our dynamic team in Durban. This role will be crucial in developing and implementing public health programs aimed at enhancing community health. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in health education, epidemiology, and community engagement.

Responsibilities

• Lead community assessments to identify health disparities.
• Draft and review health education materials for accuracy and relevance.
• Foster partnerships with local public health agencies.
• Support data collection and analysis for health programs.
• Participate in inter-departmental initiatives to enhance public health efforts.
• Provide leadership and guidance to public health interns and volunteers.
• Respond to community health inquiries and concerns.
• Facilitate discussions on public health topics in community settings.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Public Health or related field
• MPH (Master of Public Health) preferred

Experience

• 3+ years in a public health role, preferably in a community setting
