Mining Engineer

Job Description

We are looking for a Mining Engineer to join our Johannesburg team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing mining plans and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. You will work closely with geologists, surveyors, and other engineers to optimise operations.

Responsibilities

• Design and manage mining processes to enhance productivity and minimize environmental impact.
• Evaluate new technologies to improve mining efficiency and reduce costs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including environmental and safety personnel.
• Conduct safety audits and risk assessments within mining operations.
• Provide technical support and guidance to the mining operations team.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with applicable laws.
• Prepare technical reports and presentations for stakeholders.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives in mining operations.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering
• Postgraduate qualifications in a relevant field would be a plus

Experience

• 5+ years in mining engineering or related fields
