Cybersecurity Analyst

Job Description

We're on the lookout for a proactive Cybersecurity Analyst who is passionate about safeguarding information systems. You will monitor activity on networks, assess risk levels, and develop security policies and protocols that enhance organizational security across various platforms.

Responsibilities

• Regularly audit and assess security posture and measures.
• Analyze logs and alerts from security tools to identify potential threats.
• Develop and deliver training programs on cybersecurity best practices.
• Collaborate with compliance teams to ensure adherence to regulations.
• Communicate with senior management on security risks and strategies.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Cybersecurity
• Masters’ degree is preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in a cybersecurity analyst role or similar

Technical Skills

• Penetration Testing
• Firewalls and VPNs

Soft Skills

• Project Management
• Problem Solving

Certifications

• CompTIA Security+
• Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Xhosa: Conversational

Advantageous

• Familiarity with compliance frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, GDPR): Understanding of industry-standard compliance practices and regulations.
• Experience in DevSecOps practices: Experience in integrating security into the development cycle.
