Chemical Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a qualified Chemical Engineer to join our dynamic team in Cape Town. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of chemical processes and experience in optimizing production methods. The role will involve designing and implementing new processes, as well as troubleshooting existing systems to improve efficiency and yield.

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-functional teams on process engineering projects.
• Develop scale-up strategies for new chemical processes.
• Investigate process failures and implement corrective measures.
• Monitor production processes and propose modifications for efficiency.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent

Experience

• Experience in a manufacturing or processing environment is preferred

• Chemical Process Simulation Software
• Regulatory Compliance Knowledge

• Analytical Thinking
• Leadership

Certifications

• Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with simulation software like Aspen Plus: Proficient in using Aspen Plus for process modelling.
• Familiarity with Six Sigma methodologies: Knowledge of Six Sigma tools for process improvement.
