Job Description

We are currently seeking a skilled Accountant to join our team in Johannesburg. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of accounting principles and experience in managing financial records. Responsibilities include preparing financial statements, conducting audits, and providing recommendations to improve financial processes.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily financial operations of the company.
• Prepare financial reports, including profit and loss accounts.
• Develop and maintain accounting principles, practices, and procedures.
• Conduct forecast and risk analysis.
• Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Ensure compliance with statutory law and financial regulations.
• Support and assist in financial audits.
• Communicate financial performance and trends to management.
• Serve as a point of contact for financial inquiries.
• Process monthly payroll and ensure accuracy.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field
• Master's degree in Accounting is advantageous

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in an accounting environment

Technical Skills

• Ledger Management
• Financial Analysis Software

• Interpersonal Skills

Certifications

• CMA (Certified Management Accountant)

Languages

• Zulu: Fluent

Advantageous

• Knowledge of IFRS: Understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards.
• Experience in project accounting: Knowledge of financial processes in project management.
